SAN ANTONIO, here we come!

Greg and I are taking off for San Antonio Sunday morning. We BOTH are looking forward to the trip. We have our tickets to Sea World! :) On a side note, we have been married exactly 8 months today and we are just now getting around to making a "honeymoon" trip.

Have a great weekend!

A few more pictures ... Tim McGraw

Pictures from the concert:

Greg's purchase

Greg bought a new toy for his truck over the weekend. I was his assistant to put it on. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty, but we got the job done.

This is Greg telling me to get my butt in gear, we didn't have all day. And to put the damn camera away. I did and missed a lot of good shots of us grunting and groaning and throwing tools at each other (ok, not really, but I know the thought crossed my mind a time or two).

The finished product.

Pictures from our trip to Missouri:

Me holding Selby Hulse (ignore the fat upper arm)

The random assortment of birthday cakes for the June birthdays! There was the leftover ice cream cake from McKenzie, the leftover baby shower cake stating "It's a boy!", the strawberry pie, and the cake Jessica made for Andy. It was really quite funny.

The mommy to be opening gifts. I didn't get a picture of everyone. :( The little boy is Augustus, my friend Amanda's boy. He is 4 but he is already lying about his age. He told me he was 2. He is adorable!

If you look really closely, you can see cows. This was in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Greg would like to live there someday and gather cows and ranch here.

Where does the time go?

I can't believe it is already Friday. We survived the trip to and from Missouri in one piece. We tried to beat the storm on Thursday night, but were unsucessful. We ran into storms on Sunday driving back too. I think we are doomed to have horrible weather to drive in when going home, especially when we drive through Kansas.

The baby shower was great, it was nice to catch up with my high school friends. Friday night I caught up with some college friends over wine and dinner, oh and an ice cream cake!

Saturday I decided to clip Jules (the dog). Needless to say, she wasn't looking so pretty when I left. I'm going to blame it on dull clipper blades and an uncooperative dog. Hopefully it will help keep her cooler though.

We had some awesome catfish on Saturday night that my great-great uncles caught out of our pond on Friday. Nothing's better than fish fresh from the pond.

This week has been busy at work. I'm so glad it's Friday. I watched 27 Dresses last night (thanks Kara!) and loved it. It wasn't quite as good as I had hoped, but I still laughed and cried.

hopefully I'm remember to bring my camera and get the pictures off it from last weekend next week.

On the road again...

We are headed to Northeast Missouri this weekend. I wish we could stay there longer, but work doesn't allow for it! I am hoping Greg gets off work mid afternoon so we can get on the road at a decent time, but it is highly unlikely. We have a feeling we will make it to Kansas City and then stop for the night.

We are the proud new owners of our third horse (or so I'm told). It is only a couple months old, so we won't actually get it until the Fall. Still no cows....

A big congrats goes out to our friends Toni and Tracy who got engaged over the weekend. Toni stopped by on Saturday and Tracy did an excellent job picking out the ring. It is beautiful. They are looking at a September/October wedding. Toni's sister is getting married this weekend.

I was innocently watering my flowers last night when I about peed myself due to the fact of a snake hanging out around my flowers. It was about 3.5 feet long. I screamed (thankfully no one was around) and jumped in my car. I watched the snake frolic around my flowers, steps, sidewalk, etc. Finally he went under the porch so I ran like the wind, jumped the bottom steps and went inside. I didn't come out again until this morning. He was a fast booger too, he was moving like crazy. I'm definately going to be a little more wary about water the flowers and weeding around them.

I have big plans for the weekend, new tires for the car, baby shower, family gathering, ordering wedding pictures, and seeing friends.

For those of you from P-town: in case you didn't hear, Mr. Caldwell had an accident and is in ICU at Blessing. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Have a great weekend, next week I should hopefully have pictures from the baby shower!

Weekend recap

We had a great weekend (or at least I did). The concert was awesome, except for the fact that I missed most of Jason Aldean due to some chick and her man standing the ENTIRE concert. She was shaking her thing, we decided she had an imaginary stripper pole. Trust me, it was really bad. SO, I politely asked her and her other half to sit down during Tim McGraw so the FIVE rows of people behind them could see. Needless to say, the confrontation wasn't pretty. Luckily, they paid $70 or so to see Jason Aldean and then left. I also think that they weren't in the right seats because they said something about if we didn't like their show we should move because the seats weren't assigned. I smarted off (of course) where I learned to read, my ticket very specifically told me where to sit. It wouldn't have been such a problem, but they were the ONLY two people standing in the three sections. Tim McGraw was awesome, even though his pants were bedazzled.

When we got home (my husband lovingly waited for me at Ann and Bruce's house so we could follow each other home), Greg wanted to hunt this armadillo. So, at 1:30 or so in the morning, in my shorts and flip-flops (I was getting ready to climb in bed) we are armed with a crappy flashlight and a T-post. The armadillo was heading back to his hole under the shed when I saw him. Greg chased it with the post while I held the light. The problem was that it ran at me (the little boogers can move) so I ran screaming in the other direction. Quite a site I tell you. So there was no armadillo killing that night.

Saturday Greg went to work and I helped my friend Amanda move. When Greg got home, we went back on an armadillo hunt. We filled his hole full of water to flush him out. Then after much discussion (ok, it was yelling and cussing at each other) we finally worked a system out. I was on one side of the shed, scaring the armadillo to Greg who was on the other side of the shed with a T post (you use what you got on hand). Greg finally could get a good shot at the armadillo, so he shot it with his 270 (which is a big gun for a 3-4 foot shot, or so I'm told). Needless to say there was blood splatter on the gun scope, the armadillo was dead. The only problem is they are STINKING creatures when shot into a million pieces. The catch of the whole story, the propane tank was only about two feet away!

To celebrate the victory, we went to Lucille's in Mulhall to eat. This place might become our new favorite place to eat. The next visitors we have will get to experience this place, compliments of us.

Sunday was sleeping in, church, and then watching movies and NASCAR. Later Greg and I played some catch and then he tried to teach me how to throw a lariat and rope. I still need lots of practice, but I'll blame part of it on the rope!

Such exciting lives we lead in Oklahoma, where armadillo hunting is the highlight!
