No Change . . .

We are still on track for a July 13 or so baby. There is no dilation, however I am softening. My doctor is guessing I'll be closer to my due date or past and not go early, unless something drastically changes. So, it looks like a few more weeks of incubation for Baby Meier!

Let the countdown begin!

So today is 38 weeks. Am I ready? Yes and no. We put the car seat in the car on Sunday and I washed 5-6 loads of baby stuff. I only have the crib bedding left to wash, hopefully tonight. I need to do a final cleaning in the baby's room so we can move some furniture around. Then I can finish arranging that room and hopefully it will be done. But I don't think things are ever done when preparing for a baby.

I have a few more shower thank yous to write (hopefully today). I need to pack my hospital bag at some point. I have a list of items to pack, I just need to sit down and do it. I need to clean our bedroom and then set up the pack and play for the baby. The cradle is in Missouri, so we will start with the pack and play until the cradle arrives. That might require some more furniture moving, but we'll see. Our spare/junk room is a disaster. I took all of our stuff out of the baby's room, so now I need to find a place for all of it. We did go to the hospital yesterday and signed the paperwork and got a tour of the facility, so we are all ready to go on that end.

I go to the doctor tomorrow, so we are hoping things are progressing good. Last week everything was fine. I haven't had any Braxton Hicks contractions or anything, which I'm thankful for. Greg is hopefully going with me tomorrow because he wants to know if it is ok for him to be gone part of next week. Not real sure my doctor can guarantee anything there.

What else has been going on? I mowed the yard on Saturday and totally cut the front sidewall of the tire. Oops! In the process, I scalped part of the yard while trying to get it all mowed. Oh well.

The Oklahoma baby shower was great! I didn't take any pictures, so I'll get some from Mindy or Jessica. The cake was delicious, although gigantic! It was great to catch up with friends and play a few games. We did get some OSU stuff so now the baby has a few Mizzou and OSU things to wear.

I had Bunco on Thursday and Friday last week. I was so tired afterward. Being pregnant can be so tiring sometimes! I did win most Buncos on Thursday and most wins on Friday, so it was a successful evening! I'm going to miss Bunco in July when I'm home with the baby.

Hopefully after my doctor's appointment tomorrow I'll have some news to share and I'll actually have time to post it.

36 weeks

So, yesterday was 36 weeks. Greg and I celebrated by me assisting him at his work. It was a long day, but he said I was more helpful than a hindrance, so it was a good day.

I went to the doctor today and the baby is in the head down position and I'm starting to dilate, just a wee little bit. Everything seems to be positioning for the big delivery day. I still have the same due date - July 13. I'm glad to hear the baby is in the right position.

I have my last baby shower this weekend here in Oklahoma. I'm really looking forward to it. The girls are being pretty secretive about it. After this shower, I'm going to put everything together in the baby's room and start washing stuff in the next few weeks. Around week 38, Greg and I are going shopping for anything we think we may need in the first few weeks for the baby. I can't believe it's almost time for the little one to be here.

We didn't float away on Monday. We did get 4.5 inches of rain and then it just rained again here today. The people here are complaining about not having flood insurance, but hey you live in a flood plain, it's going to flood eventually. Oh well. Oklahoma is definitely a weather loving state. I think there was more coverage on the flooding Monday than there was back home for the Flood of 1993.

Big 12 and more Babies

Seriously, what is happening to the Big 12?? Colorado goes to the Pac-10 the same time they are hit with fines for poor academic performance. Seriously? I like the Big 12, you can travel to the games and the schools have a lot in common. Not happy about this situation. Life is not all about money, what about your fans?? the alumni??

Amanda and Greg had a little boy earlier this week, Grant Thomas, who weighed in at 9 lbs, 4 oz. This is their second child. Katie and Alphonse finally had their baby girl also this week. Poor Katie went a week over her due date. They named her Olivia Lucille and she weighed 6 lbs I believe. Luckily, my doctor said he wouldn't let me go over that long.

I'm definitely getting bigger by the day. This weeks picture looks like I stuffed a basketball up my dress.

Yippee for a new computer

So I got my new laptop May 26 and I just installed our usb Internet thingy on it. This is my first post with the laptop. It is taking a little bit to get use to typing on a laptop again. But I think I'm in love. The next step is to install the new printer/fax/copier/scanner software and then set up my remote desktop shortcut. Then I'll be already for this kid to come and be on maternity leave. I ended up buying an HP online. I'm not sure of the model or anything, but so far, so good! I want to be able to post pics of the little one and keep with what is going on at work. It's really funny because I just got a new computer at work and two new 22 inch monitors. I do love having two giant monitors.

Today I drove to Joplin, Missouri to have lunch with Lane and Caston. I can't believe how much Caston has grown since I saw him in March. He was such a cutie and it was great to catch up with Lane. We ate lunch at Sandstone Gardens which is at Exit 1 in Missouri. It is the giant mansion place on the south side of I44. The lunch was delicious! I'm glad Lane suggested it.

I've successful completed my baby classes. I hope I'm prepared now! I go to the doctor again on Wednesday. I'll be 35 weeks, so I may start going every week or he may let me go to 37 weeks and then start coming every week.

I need to take a picture of my garden. It is looking pretty good right now. I have two tomato plants with green tomatoes, two jalapeno plants, a row of peas, two rows of green beans, a Brussels spout plant, and broccoli. I've cut some broccoli already and it was delicious. I think it is going to get too hot for the peas, but I'll try again in the Fall. The green beans have started growing, so I'm really excited to have fresh green beans.

While home last weekend, Amy and McKenzie took some pictures of Greg and I. I posted one on Facebook and I'll post the pictures once I get the final edited ones. McKenzie is really enjoying editing them with her software I think. I've seen some previews and they look great.

Stay cool and enjoy the rest of your weekend! It is suppose to be high 90's here in Oklahoma. Woo Hoo!

Baby Shower

Over Memorial weekend, Greg and I made a quick trip to Northeast Missouri for a baby shower with my family and our friends. Amy and Jessica threw the shower at Mark and Amy's house and it had a rubber ducky theme. It was a crazy weekend as my family was trying to replant corn, bale hay, and spray. And of course the cows got out on Sunday right before the shower, as they always tend to do when we have a family function. I don't think Andy had a birthday party for a long time without us leaving to go put cows back in (His birthday is June 7). It was great to catch up with family and friends, even though it was a little on the warm side of things. The kids all played together really well and enjoyed the sprinkler. We got lots of great presents and now I'm in the process of putting things away here. I think we are going to need a bigger house for all the baby stuff!

A few pictures Amy sent:

Us with the awesome cake Jessica's coworker made. I brought the duck portion back to Oklahoma and shared it with my coworkers yesterday. They all loved it. Kaitlyn, my cousin who will soon be driving, made the cookies and decorated them. They were delicious and super cute.

My siblings and spouses and parents went together and had this cradle made for us by a friend's uncle. They paid him and in turn he makes three more to donated to a woman's shelter in St. Louis. How awesome it that? It had to stay in Missouri for now because it did not fit in the car.

Thanks Amy and Jessica for a great shower and to everyone else who came! It was great to see you!

(We forgot to take a family picture, so imagine a family picture here)

Babies Galore!

This was a busy weekend for babies!

Our friends Josh and Megan had their little girl on Saturday, May 29. Her name is Sunni (don't know the middle name) and I can't remember how much she weighed either.

On Monday, May 31st, Luke and Jamie welcomed their little girl, Molly Marie into the world around 1:00 ish in the afternoon. She weighed 8 lbs, 1 oz (I think). Our friends little boy Selby was loving on Jamie on Sunday at our baby shower, so I think baby Molly wanted out to meet her awesome parents and stake her claim.

The flood of babies continues!

I didn't take any pictures at the baby shower this weekend, so I'll have to wait until I get pictures from Amy and Jessica. We also had Amy and McKenzie take pictures of Greg and I, but I forgot the CD of them, so hopefully tomorrow I'll post them.
