It was a long weekend, but worth it!

We traveled to Jackson on Friday for a wedding. It was a quick trip to Missouri but we had fun and saw lots of people we haven't seen for awhile. The wedding was beautiful.
For those who were at our wedding and saw the lady with the squirrel hat, the following pictures will make sense to you. Ashley, the bride, was the one who pointed this hat out. Greg and I decided to replicate it (to the best of our memory) for Ashley. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a stuffed squirrel. We almost decided to hunt a real one to put on there. Thank gosh for dog toys (which is where we found this squirrel).

The squirrel hat we made for Ashley

Paula and I with toilet paper. We were innocent and did not do anything to the newlyweds house. It was all the boys. :)
There are many more pictures from the wedding, but not all are in my possession and some would require to much explanation.
It was a LOOOONNGGGGG drive back to Oklahoma. We got home only to find out there were tornados and thunderstorms headed our way. The other big issue was out fridge/freezer tripped its breaker and everything in it was warm. Needless to say, we threw out a lot of food. The storm finally hit about 3 AM, so Greg and I took turns sleeping to make sure we didn't need to get in the neighbors fraidy hole. I did NOT want to get up this morning, so I slept in some, only to be woken up by our weather radio to tell me there were more storms headed my way.
I'm definitely heading to bed early tonight.

Today is Thursday...

Yippee, it's Thursday!
We are leaving tomorrow to head to Greg's parents for a short weekend. I'm pretty excited about it. We are planning on dancing up a storm Sat night and we've been practicing our moves. (not really) We have been working on a secret, special surprise for the bride and groom. We can't wait to see their reaction to it. I'll post pictures next week of the surprise. (if I remember to take pictures)

I'm headed out to enjoy the warm, yet windy weather with some friends. We are walking at Boomer Lake and then maybe going to a pancake fundraiser. Greg might play softball tonight with some friends, so I might go watch that too. I wish I brought my camera to capture him playing softball.

On Saturday, everyone should cheer for the Ok State Cowgirls in the NCAA tourney. They play LSU at New Orleans at 1:30 PM, so they need lots of support. They may be the only Big 12 team left in the tourney, but I'm not sure.

Have a great weekend! :)

Yes it is SPRING

The weather outside is wonderful! It is a beautiful 77 degrees. So, instead of working on thesis revisions, I'm headed home to enjoy the nice weather.

I decided to shop for some new clothes for the wedding this weekend. It is times like this that I miss Columbia/Jefferson City. The shopping selection is pretty limited in Stillwater. It has improved however since I moved here. I didn't find anything, so no new clothes for me.

I'm going to work on my tan!

T.G.I.F.

It's Spring Break here at OSU, so I've sorta been relaxing. I've been working on making some revisions on my thesis, catching up on work hours, and catching up on my sleep! Greg was gone the first part of the week for work. Of course, that's when a huge storm came through and I was trying to go to bed! I was scared, I'll admit it :)
Last weekend we went to dinner to celebrate our friend Tracy's birthday. We went to Pawnee to Click's and it was really good. We then went to the Weed (similar to Cody's, only a lot bigger) with some other friends for a little dancing.
Tonight we might to to the Cattlemen's to celebrate Bruce's birthday (man, there are a lot of March birthdays!). We are going to do a little birthday shopping for the niece too while we are in the Stockyards. Tomorrow night I think we are having dinner at the Harsh's. I don't think we've decided what we are doing for Easter yet. Our schedule is pretty busy though! Greg is breeding cows all weekend. I don't think he wants to hide Easter eggs and find them with me though. He has yet to take part in the Lehenbauer Easter egg hunt. I think the next time I'm home, we are definitly going to have it.
Next weekend we are headed to Missouri for a wedding in Jackson. Hopefully we can get there with all the flooding and road closures down there.
Greg and I are doing a NCAA bracket against each other. So far today's games are not going our way. This is about the only time I really get into college basketball. However, Greg and I are discussing heading to MIZZOU in October when the Cowboys and Tigers play each other.

Thesis Defense!

I successfully defended my thesis today! I'm pretty excited about that. I now just have to make the changes my committee suggested and tweak a few things. After that, I need to crank out a couple journal articles and then I'll be a GRADUATE!!!! Yooo Hooo

All the stress and worry were worth it, I guess. :)

I'm headed home to get some sleep......

Hump day!

I did a practice run through of my defense seminar today. Some fellow students listened and gave me some great feedback. I'm nervous but not nearly as much as I will be on FRIDAY!

Greg and I went to the Timed Events last Friday at the Lazy E in Guthrie. It was fun.

The weather is beautiful today, the mid 70's I think. I'm thinking about going home and working there on my thesis stuff.

Spring Break is next week, but I'm going to catch up on my work hours and hopefully make any changes to my thesis that need to be done.

Greg went to dinner last night with his old judging team coach who was judging goat showmanship at OYE. I was hoping to go and see some of the shows, but it doesn't look like that will happen. I'm booked until Friday and next week Greg is busy all weekend.

Oh - OYE is the Oklahoma Youth Expo. It is the largest junior show in the country or something. In some species you have to win at the county level to be able to show at it. The show season is different here than in Missouri. Greg said Chip judged 1100 kids in GOAT SHOWMANSHIP last night. He said it took like 6 hours or something.

Back to work....

The end is near, I see LIGHT!

8 days till I (hopefully) get my life back. My thesis draft is due to my committee on Friday. I'm feeling a lot better about the whole thing, but if you talked to me earlier today or earlier in the week, it would have been a different story. The better attitude might be because I've set it aside for a couple of hours to get some work in.

I hope this will be the last weekend I spend in my office staring at my computer screen. I plan on writing the presentation portion and then practicing it for the next week.

I feel like I am out of the loop with reality and I sincerely apologize to all who I've been ignoring lately. I really miss you and I promise things will get better!

I also have a job interview this week to think about, life gets less hectic, right?
