If I had more time I'd bring 3 cases of beer and a case of ammo and help Greg hunt down and kill that aweful critter that's been getting into your flowers. This situation sound like it has great potential for high amounts of alcohol consumption, or it may not get resolved.
I'm having problems with a mole in my garden . . . some of the mole repellent I bought (at Wal-Mart or Farm & Home)says it also repels armadillos. You might check it out. I haven't used that particular bag yet; if you lived closer I'd just bring it over!
I agree with Luke...lots of beer should probably be consumed to get the most effective result. Too bad I can't help with that part right now. You know I would. I am having a little mole problem, too. Hank keeps going over to the hole every night and leveling the dirt off as he digs. However, by the next afternoon, they have made a nice little mound again. Dang critters. Better in the yard than in the horse pasture and chancing a broken leg.
